Proxies For Website Account Creation

April 28th, 2010

What’s a good proxy if you are looking to create accounts? There are many different kinds of websites online that having multiple accounts at can be very useful. These kinds of websites range from forums to social networking sites. The downside is that many of these sites do not allow users to have multiple accounts, but this does not mean that creating accounts with proxies can’t be done. The trick is finding the right kind of proxy or web proxy to create the accounts with. The answer to which kind of proxy you should use depends on how long you plan on using the accounts. Are you just using them for the short term or for the long term? The timeframe you plan to use the accounts for plays a big role in finding the right proxies.

Short term accounts can be created with just about any kind of proxy. This means you could use any kind of free proxies you find online. Web proxies or free anonymous HTTP or HTTPS proxies would be the best place to start. While these kinds of proxies are typically slow and unreliable, since you don’t plan on using the accounts for long it doesn’t really matter if the proxy stops working after a few days or so. Keep in mind that these accounts would be used just once or twice and then never touched again. Try doing a quick Google online and just about any working free proxy you find should be able to do the trick.

If you plan on using the accounts for a long time, then the above method of using free proxies isn’t the best solution. The main reason for this is not only do free proxies die fast but they are often abused by spammers and quickly become blacklisted by websites and you won’t be able to use them to accounts your accounts. What can you do if you want to use accounts for several months to several years without having to worry about them being placed on hold or suspended? The best solution would be to get some kind of elite or exclusive proxy that is totally anonymous. These proxies usually go by different names, but they are commonly referred to as elite, exclusive or level 1 proxies. They should be used by no-one else but you as this is the only way to ensure that a spammer or someone else doesn’t get their hands on the IPs that your proxy uses and gets them blacklisted as a website.

School Proxy – Which Proxies Unblock Websites At School?

April 7th, 2010

Need a school proxy? Schools and other educational places frequently block access to specific sites on the internet. What you will commonly find is that social networking sites are blocked and the only way to access them is with some kind of proxy. The good news is that there are several different kinds of proxies available that will allow you to unblock almost any site from school.

The first are commonly known as web proxies. How do they work? A web proxy works by simply redirecting traffic from the social networking site that you want to access through its own server. Instead of surfing the internet directly, all surfing is done via the web proxy. The down side here is that the internet will be slow and common features like video, audio and multi-media functions may be disabled. The good news is that web proxies are usually free. They won’t cost you a penny.

One thing you should be aware of is that schools commonly block websites that contain the word “proxy” anywhere in the URL. They do this because they know students try to use proxies to bypass their school blocks. My suggestion is that you look for a website that does not contain the word “proxy” in the URL. Some other common substitutes are “unblock” and “hide”. The advantage of using a proxy without the word “proxy” in the URL is that it will be open and not blocked by your school for some time.

Tor Proxy – Forcing Tor To Use Us Ips Only

April 7th, 2010

TOR is a great http proxy or elite proxy alternative for someone who is looking for a free proxy server to be anonymous online.  While TOR is free, keep in mind that it is far from being completely and totally anonymous.  While you are surfing the internet with TOR anyone can examine your IP and detect that you are using a TOR proxy server and are trying to hide your real identity.  Depending on what you need a proxy for this may or may not be a problem.  TOR is fine provided you realize the limitations and where it can and can’t be used.

While a great free web proxy, TOR can sometimes be painfully slow.  This is caused by the many different TOR servers located around the world and obviously using a server located on the other side of the world will result in extremely high latency or delay times while surfing the net.  Another problem is that you will get a seemingly random IP and this can be a big problem for anyone who wants to use a US based or other country specific IP.  The good news is that using the tips below you can force TOR to use US based proxies only.

To make TOR use only US nodes add the following to your TOR config file:

ExcludeNodes {be},{pl},{ca},{za},{vn},{uz},{ua},{tw},{tr},{th}, {sk},{sg},{se},{sd},{sa},{ru},{ro},{pt},{ph},{pa}, {nz},{np},{no},{my},{mx},{md},{lv},{lu},{kr},{jp}, {it},{ir},{il},{ie},{id},{hr},{hk},{gr},{gi},{gb}, {fi},{es},{ee},{dk},{cz},{cy},{cr},{co},{cn},{cl}, {ci},{ch},{by},{br},{bg},{au},{at},{ar},{aq},{ao}, {ae},{nl},{de},{fr}

Hopefully you can see that the above code will make TOR ignore all nodes that are located in those countries.  The end result is that only the US nodes will be used.  This is great for anyone who is in or near the US and wants a US based node thanks to the commonly faster performance and other advantages of using a US based IP.

Watching Youtube Videos With A Proxy Server

April 3rd, 2010

Having trouble watching Youtube or other video sites with your proxy server?  This is a very common problem and it stems from how proxy servers are designed.  There are two basic kinds of proxies: web based or standard http/socks proxies.  Each of these two different kinds of proxy servers has certain features.

The main problem many people can’t view videos on Youtube is because they are using a proxy server that does not support videos and probably a lot of other social networking website features.Avoid web proxies if possible.  This isn’t to say they don’t work, but they only work for the most basic of things.  If you really want to view videos on Youtube, then the best thing would be to search for a web proxy that was specifically designed for videos.  A quick Google search for “youtube proxy” should turn up a bunch of web based proxies that do the job.  Be aware that this kind of proxy is usually very limited.  They are also shared, meaning that they might be slow and unreliable if too many people start accessing it at the same time.

The other solution is to setup your own HTTP proxy.  These kinds of proxies usually aren’t free like web based ones, but they are much more reliable and a hack of a lot faster.  Why pay for a proxy server if you can use one for free?  Well, if you have a web proxy that works for what you need then I would advise that you don’t pay for an elite or http proxy.  It is obvious that you don’t need one.  However, you may find that web proxies aren’t working for you.  This can be due to a lot of reasons, like poor performance, certain website features don’t work and very little anonymity to just name a few.  Getting your own elite proxy server is very cheap and will set you back only $9 USD or so a month.

What Is A Web Proxy Good For?

March 19th, 2010

Web based proxies are one of the most popular proxies around, but they aren’t as anonymous or secure as elite proxies and other high anonymous proxy servers.  Does this mean they are useless?  Definitely not.  There are some very good reasons when using a web based proxy server will do what you need, however, keep in mind that they do have their limitations.  Knowing what they can and can’t do will make sure you use one for the right reasons.

Are web proxies anonymous?  This is a tricky question to answer… They do change your IP but the IP you use is shared and open to inspection.  A web proxy works by using the IP that the website is hosted on to allow you to surf the internet.  This means that while you are using the proxy to surf the internet, your IP will be the same as the website.  This conceals or hides your home computer IP, but remember that there are probably 10 to 100 other people also using the web proxy at the same time as you are.  The other problem with a web proxy is the IP that you get while using it.

Elite proxies and other 100% anonymous servers give you an IP that is completely safe.  The web proxy IP can be examined and it will reveal itself as coming from a proxy server.  This means that if you visit a website, the webmaster will be able to see that you visited their site using a proxy server.  This may or may not be a problem depending on what you need a proxy server for in the first place.  However, knowing the limitations of web proxies means you know in advance what you should and shouldn’t do with one.

So what is a web proxy safe for?  General web surfing, visiting social networking sites and pretty much doing anything where you aren’t revealing personal account information or any account information that is important.  Youtube, checking hotmail or other public email and visiting forums should be fine with a web proxy.  If you want to do more than visit basic websites, then you will need to get an elite proxy.  These proxies are the only ones that make it impossible to be detected as coming from a proxy server and that is important if you visit any kind of financial or other websites that hold private and important information.
